'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League comeback

Kane celebrates his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has declared that his enthusiasm in coming back to the Premier League has faded and he is open to explore a new contract with Bayern Munich.

The accomplished striker is currently two years through the four-year deal he signed when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the offseason of 2023.

The 32-year-old forward has scored an remarkable 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German club, contributing them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga title - which represented the maiden significant honor of his notable career.

Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has recently stated that he would welcome to see Kane come back to England, where he needs 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring record of 260.

However, the England leader has now clarified that he is no longer as keen about returning home as he previously was, and would definitely consider prolonging his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could absolutely see that," he commented.

"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be prepared to talk and have an frank conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not thinking about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have realized in my career is that different options and different moments happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am fully all in with Bayern."

Record-breaking Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and recently became the speediest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club participating in one of Europe's top five competitions, reaching the milestone in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had eluded him until he lifted the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would feel after overcoming his trophy barren spell, but now feels it has made him motivated for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to accomplish in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, eating even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The possibility of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
  • New contract discussions could start in the upcoming future
  • Kane's outstanding goal-scoring record continues to amaze
